Two Residential Developments Shortlisted for the Yorkshire Property Awards 2020
Bowman Riley designed two exceptional residential developments for Caedmon Homes that have been shortlisted for the Yorkshire Property Awards 2020.
St John’s Mews in York has been shortlisted in the Refit and Refurbishment category and Priory Meadows in Kirby Hill has been shortlisted in the Residential Development of the Year (fewer than 50 homes) category.
We provided architecture, building surveying and the role of the principal designer on St Johns Mews, a conversion of a 1960s former care home into 29 new apartments in the heart of York city centre. The project involved the part demolition and part conversion of the 1960s property into 29 private apartments. St John’s Mews makes the most of the stunning views of York Minster. The ground-floor apartments feature patio doors opening onto communal gardens and the two-bedroom first-floor apartments have Juliet balconies. On the top floor, the three-bedroom apartments have floor to ceiling double-glazed picture windows to the gable and living rooms.
Bowman Riley designed and project managed Priory Meadows, a new residential development in the village of Kirby Hill with views towards the Kilburn White Horse, one of the most famous North Yorkshire landmarks. We designed a mix of 34 new build traditional properties in various sizes from two-bedroom dormer bungalows and three-bedroom semis to three, four and five-bedroom detached homes. Designed to blend seamlessly with the local vernacular, we created high-quality homes to attract buyers with specifications that exceed the standard volume house types in acknowledgement of the competition in the market.
The glittering Yorkshire Property Awards ceremony is taking place on Thursday 5th November 2020 at New Dock Hall, The Royal Armouries in Leeds.
