Conference and Team Building 2023
Our annual conference and team building day, which this year took place last Friday, 16th June 2023, has become one of the highlights of our working calendar.
The combination of team presentations at the Everyman Cinema in Leeds, a guest speaker Deborah Ogden speaking about personal branding and treasure hunt across the city centre, followed by prize giving at the Green Room rooftop bar, created a diverse and enjoyable experience.
Starting the day with team presentations in the morning was a great way to promote collaboration and encourage the teams to showcase their ideas and accomplishments. This fostered a sense of camaraderie and allowed team members to learn from each other’s work, facilitating knowledge sharing within the company.
The quality of the presentations and project showcases was excellent. It was clear how much work had gone into preparing and rehearsing for the presentations.
Everyone voted for their favourite presentation of the morning. It was a close call, but Building Consultancy won for demonstrating the impact of their work in adapting disabled people’s homes for Craven District Council.
The morning also involved people receiving recognition for their work following positive internal and external client satisfaction feedback with rewards handed out to Anita Rebaudo, Rebecca Jones, Emma Black, Maddie Bradley, Laura Baarda, Samantha Jevons, Joanne Harrison, Helen Walker, Tom Shelley, James Ross, Ruth Bush, Robert Sharples and Simon Rolley.
We followed the presentations with lunch and a treasure hunt and scavenger hunt called “Race Across Leeds”, which added an element of excitement and friendly competition to the day. Exploring the city centre while completing various challenges and searching for clues was entertaining and team-building, promoting communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
The rooftop bar at the Green Room for prize giving and refreshments provided a sunny and scenic environment for our team to unwind, celebrate their achievements, and socialise in a relaxed setting. This concluding part of the event allowed everyone to relax, mingle, and enjoy each other’s company.
Overall, the day was a successful event that effectively combined professional development and team-building activities, contributing to our positive culture, boosting morale, and enhancing team dynamics.
