Celebrating Fundraising Success
Bowman Riley’s team presented a cheque to the children’s charity, SELFA based in Skipton to mark the end of a two-year charity partnership.
Our team has raised almost £7,500 in the last two years for SELFA, which helps disadvantaged and disabled children throughout the Craven district of North Yorkshire.
Among the many fundraising activities, Bowman Riley’s team members have run the length of the Leeds-Liverpool canal in three days, completed the Manchester half-marathon and rowed across Lake Windermere.
Emma Pears, SELFA’s Chief Officer, said:
“The support we’ve received from Bowman Riley over the last two years has been amazing. Their staff have gone above and beyond to support SELFA and we are so grateful.”
Kara Thorpe, Bowman Riley said:
“We are proud of our partnership with SELFA over the past two years. We asked our team to vote for the charity they felt the most affinity with and SELFA was chosen. It’s great to support a charity that is so close to our head office. Our staff enjoy giving back to the local community and many took the opportunity to take part in a day’s paid voluntary work supporting SELFA”.

In 2019, our team selected two charities to support for the forthcoming two years namely the Bradford Royal Infirmary Neonatal Department and the Cellar Trust.
The Neonatal Department at the Bradford Royal Infirmary is the main ward for all regional neonatal wards in the region. Any child born severely premature or critically ill would be transferred to BRI Neonatal as they are able to provide state of the art care. Whilst the Medical side is funded by the NHS, it is the additional services they provide for parents that Bowman Riley will be supporting.
The Cellar Trust was established in the mid-1980s and aims to provide mental health support to adults across the Bradford district. Their mental health services include pathways to employment, workplace wellbeing, work retention and crisis support.
