New Adventure for Matthew Jones
Director Matthew Jones has decided to leave Bowman Riley to pursue an alternative career and spend more time in the great outdoors.
Matthew joined Bowman Riley as an architect in 1997, becoming a director in 2003, responsible for leading the Leeds office.
Matthew was instrumental in some of the most prestigious projects whilst at Bowman Riley, including the redevelopment of Grantley Hall in Ripon as a five-star hotel and wellness retreat, a flagship Primark store in Sunderland for LandSec and most recently the George Hotel redevelopment in Huddersfield.
A stalwart of the Leeds networking scene, he made many positive relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors over the years. Our annual golf day is Matthew’s favourite day of the year when he got to bring together golfers within our industry for a great day of client entertainment at Skipton golf club for the last 20 years.
Matthew leaves the business in excellent shape, and his departure provides an opportunity for succession planning of other rising stars within the Leeds office, which will continue to be managed by Caroline Woolley and Colin Briggs supported by Tom Walker, Anita Rebaudo and Samantha Jevons.
Michael Feather, Managing Director, said:
“We will be sad to see Matthew leave after over 25 years at Bowman Riley. He established our central Leeds base and supported Tony Pleasants in opening our office in London. We wish Matthew all the best in his new endeavours.”
